TZG’s Eric Orlando, Exec. Dir. of the Brewers Guild of New Jersey was interviewed by NJ Spotlight News about recent regulations that went into effect six months ago that place burdensome requirements and restrictions on brewers in NJ. Eric explained how the public can help advocate for the brewery industry by participating in the Brew Jersey campaign.
The Brew Jersey campaign is a collaboration between the Brewers Guild of New Jersey and all of NJ’s craft breweries against onerous regulations that threaten the industry. The campaign was launched after the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) imposed strict restrictions on New Jersey’s breweries. The restriction includes tasting room events, private parties, live music, television programming, and food. The restrictions that were put in place have made it more difficult for breweries to not only grow but to survive. The campaign is intended to support legislation that will help breweries in NJ have a regulatory environment where they can thrive and give their customers the best experience possible!
The Brewers Guild of New Jersey is a trade association comprised of limited licensed breweries (“microbreweries”) and restricted licensed breweries (“brewpubs”) which produce an estimated 75% of the craft beer brewed in the state. Founded in 2018, the Guild was established to better represent the policy interests of New Jersey’s pioneering independent craft breweries and brewpubs in the region’s ultra-competitive alcoholic beverage market.
