KZG’s Jeannine LaRue Honored by the Alice Paul Institute

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Alice Paul Institute presented their Education Award to KZG’s Jeannine LaRue at their annual Alice Paul Equality Awards. The award recognizes Jeannine for continuing to help improve the quality of New Jersey education in both the public and private sectors.

The Alice Paul Institute had the following to say about Jeannine when it was announced that she would be receiving this honor:

“Jeannine Larue’s professional roots are in education – as a teacher, a school board representative and a university administrator. She created mentoring programs for Newark school children and has worked throughout her long career to improve the quality of education for New Jersey students.”

The Alice Paul Institute is a non-profit organization that seeks to further the legacy of Alice Paul and her life’s work for gender equality, while also taking on a leadership role in bringing recognition to organizations and historic sites that honor women. The Alice Paul Equality Awards honor individuals from any industry or field who embody the spirit of Alice Paul, and continue her mission of advancing gender equality in America.

Alice Paul was the architect of some of the most outstanding political achievements on behalf of women in the 20th century. A leading American suffragist, she was a force in the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which granted women the right to vote, and authored the Equal Rights Amendment which, when ratified, gave legal and lasting equal protections to both women and men under the United States Constitution. Alice Paul will be featured on the newly redesigned $10 bill to be released by the U.S. Treasury in 2020, the centennial of the 19th Amendment.

U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross and Lockheed Martin’s Kimberly Ramalho were also honored during the Awards ceremony.
