KZG's Jeannine LaRue Launches LaRuelist Café Podcast
KZG’s Jeannine LaRue has taken the world of podcasting by storm with the launch of her podcast, LaRuelist Café, in late April. LaRuelist Café is a podcast live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube 2-4 times per week that examines timely issues with expert panels from across the country. The podcast seeks to spark a dialogue on current events and issues facing our everyday lives.
Jeannine had the idea to start a podcast to tap into and highlight the magnificent work her network of friends, colleagues, and associates were doing in a wide variety of sectors. She originally had planned to host the podcast live, in-person with guests, but COVID-19 presented the challenge of conducting the podcast remotely. Rather than use COVID-19 as a reason to postpone the project, Jeannine saw the importance of using her platform as an outlet to address important issues while giving her audience something to take their minds off the challenges of the pandemic.
Jeannine’s engaging and versatile podcast episodes regularly receive thousands of views as she covers everything from gun violence to the coronavirus pandemic and mental health to racism in America. Currently, Laruelist Café is hosting a series of episodes regarding the LGBTQ movement for pride month and racism.
When discussing her podcast content Jeannine said, “We are tackling tough issues. We are not interviewing typical interview personalities. In fact, I don’t interview. I treat it like a coffee shop conservation on issues.”
Jeannine’s podcast panelists have included a wide range of experts including elected officials from various levels of government. Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka among many others have all shared their insights on the podcast.
With 23 successful episodes already under her belt, the sky is the limit for Jeannine LaRue and LaRuelist Café!
