KZG’s Trish Zita Discusses Diversity in Lobbying With ROI-NJ
ROI-NJ covers the most important issues facing the New Jersey business community and recently featured remarks and insights from KZG’s Trish Zita in an article regarding the growing number of minorities in the New Jersey lobbying industry.
The article “Faces of influence: Veteran lobbyists say minorities are gaining ground in sector, but still have ways to go” focuses on the push for firms to include more minority representation on State Street, especially following the tragic death of George Floyd and the subsequent protests regarding racial inequality and police brutality that erupted across the country.
According to the article, the local lobbying field has made a very gradual transition to adding more diversity, but there is hope that the social ramifications of the Floyd protests will usher in a renewed call for increasing minority representation in Trenton.
Speaking to the changing diversity amongst Trenton’s power players, Trish said, “It’s interesting; I’ve done this over 25 years. If I look back over that continuum, there’s significant change. But is it equal? We’re not there yet.”
Trish explained that she has worked to make Kaufman Zita Group home to professionals who are reflective of the state’s diversity. She believes that diversity will continue to be an ongoing area of growth for the lobbying industry.
