KZG’s Trish Zita Honored by Emerge New Jersey
Emerge New Jersey, an affiliate of Emerge America, dedicated to increasing the number of Democratic women in public office, recently honored KZG Principal Trish Zita with its Bench Builder Award at their 2nd Annual Building the Bench Breakfast. The award, which recognizes the efforts of women leaders in various fields of expertise, is given out to those who advance the organization’s goal of increasing women’s voice in public policy and decision-making at the local, state, and federal levels.
Trish spoke about the importance of helping women engage in the political process. “While diversity in government, politics, and lobbying has increased, there’s still a long way to go in achieving equality. Women are underrepresented at all levels of government. I’m honored to be recognized by Emerge NJ and I am delighted to work with this outstanding organization to help ‘build the bench’ for the next generation of female leaders.”
The event featured discussions by Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), State Senator Sandra Cunningham (D-31), Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-37), Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey (D-27), as well as fellow honorees Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr and New Jersey State Democratic Committee Vice Chair Lizette Delgado-Polanco.
